Chelsea targets Marcos Alonso
As the close of the transfer window approaches, Chelsea have set their sights on Florentina defender Marcos Alonso, according to Marca.
Chelsea coach Antoinio Conte is determined to capture the former Sunderland loanee before the transfer window closes midweek and is reportedly willing to spend as much as £25 million on the Serie A defender.
Conte, who missed out on signing other defenders, is looking to fortify his defense and would definitely be handing Alonso a first team spot, as he moves Cesar Azpilicueta to the middle to play a central role.
Oshoala seals win for Arsenal Ladies
Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala led her team to a 2-0 win over Notts County in the women’s Super League.
After a goalless first half with little to no opportunities to score, Arsenal came back as a determined side and scored a 47th minute goal courtesy of Oshoala’s second half opener.
The Gunners Emma Bryne was sent off after a reckless challenge on Ellen white. Arsenal surprised fans, despite being without one of their key players, they still went on to score another goal, just 10 minutes after Bryne was sent off.
Oshoala almost made it three just before the whistle was blown but Megan Walsh made an impressive save to deny the 21-year old.
Manchester City continues with perfect start
Manchester City, like Chelsea have continued with their 100% perfect start, as they defeated West Ham by 3-1.
