alex iwobi confident about world cup

We will qualify for the World Cup – Alex Iwobi

The Arsenal youngster, Alex Iwobi says he is confident the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Nigeria has been placed in a very tough group and will face Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia and hope to make it to the top of the group in order to qualify. Iwobi though, believes with the right set of players, Nigeria will secure a World Cup ticket.

The Nations Cup is the biggest sporting tournament in Africa, so we were gutted but as a team we have to look forward and focus on the World Cup and our qualification matches,” Iwobi told FIFA.com. “It is a tough group for sure, but I don’t think there are any easy groups – it’s international level competition. I’m confident we can prevail, we definitely have the players to. If we prepare well, focus and play to the best of our ability I’m sure we will qualify.

“All the teams [in the group] are good teams that have been former AFCON winners, and have players playing at the highest level, so we know we’ll be up against well-prepared teams.”

Nigeria hopes to seal the World Cup qualification after losing out on the African Nations Cup qualifier a couple of months ago.

 Nigeria U23 get camp allowance

Nigeria has fulfilled their promise to the dream team by paying the camp allowances for each player and officials within the camp.

A sum of $47,850 (N16.7m) was shared among the team, with each player getting $1650 (N557,000).

They were also given daily allowance for upkeep within the camp, and each player will receive $150 daily.

Sports minister Dalung, revealed that the players received their entitlements in a timely manner because they want everyone focused on the games and winning.

“All your camp allowances have been budgeted for. There will be no story-telling during this games. You will get all your allowances and entitlements as we don’t want any distractions,” Dalung said.

“We want you to remain focused. You have established that you’re great men and determined to conquer, despite all odds. There can’t be any other sacrifice more than this,” he concluded.

Nigeria will face Colombia by (6pm) today and hopefully, they seal maximum points in Group B.

pogba believes he will thrive under mourinho

Pogba says he will improve under Mourinho

Latest Manchester United addition, Paul Pogba, is confident he will improve greatly under the guidance of Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

The French midfielder, who has kept fans guessing all summer, just completed a record breaking move to Manchester United, after the signings of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitrayan.

I spoke with him a few times and he gave me energy, positivity. I was thinking ‘why not’. I’m sure he can make me improve, make me a better player and a better person.

Pogba has eyes on Champions League success and Ballon d’Or as he returns back to the English Premier, after being away for 4 years.

Win the league for the first time, the Champions League, of course,” he said when asked what his ambitions were. “Personally, one of my dreams is to win the Ballon d’Or. Hopefully it will come but first I have to win the Premier League.”

He finished with: “I want to show fans I didn’t come here to joke. I’m here to make them happy.”

Nice closing- we wish Pogba all the best at Manchester United. And we guarantee the Premier League is definitely going to be fun to watch this season with all these new signings and coaches.
