Hazard laments about Arsenal loss – “No excuses for loss!”

Eden Hazard has spoken up to chastise his team, Chelsea, following their shock 3-0 loss to Arsenal on Saturday, at the Emirates Stadium.

It appears the Blues woes started two weeks ago when they ended their unbeaten run and suffered a defeat to Liverpool.

The Gunners 3 quick goals in the opening 40 minutes and Hazard believes it is time for the team to buckle up, with crucial fixtures coming up, if they want to stand any chance at contending for the title this season.

“There are no excuses,” he told the club’s official website. “It was not good. We lost too many duels.

“We came to win the match but we made mistakes – for the first goal, another for the second and then before we knew it we were already 3-0 down.

“Every weekend at the moment we having to come back and score. We did it at Leicester but against Arsenal, who were playing at home, it was not possible.

“They played well. We need to be better. In the last three games in the league there have been nine points available and we have got one. It is disappointing.

“We need to go away and work on what we are doing wrong ahead of the big matches that are coming up.”

Chelsea will be determined to right all wrongs as they face Hull City this Saturday.

Thiago Alcantara wary of Atletico’s defense

Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara admits that Atletico Madrid has the best defense in the world, as they gear up to face Diego Simeone’s men in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Atletico proved themselves to be a side to be reckoned with, when they defeated the Bavarians in last season’s Champions League semi-final.

Bayern will be looking to avenge that loss but Thiago has disclosed that it won’t be easy, considering Atletico’s almost perfect defense.

“I am really looking forward to the game. Atletico reached the final last year,” Thiago said at a news conference.

“We know from playing them in the semi-finals how they play. We know their strengths and their weakness. We have to deploy all our weapons against them. They defend better than us, better than Barcelona, better than any other team in the world. We’re not thinking about revenge for last season, it is a different game. It’s a group-stage game so it will be less emotional than a semi-final. It’s important for us to win the away games, or at least take home as many points as possible.”

Both teams won their opening matches and neither one will be looking to drop any points in this thrilling match.
