Spurs seems to be wallowing in continuous failure. Fans are getting frustrated, as when you expect them to perform they fumble. And this usually happens at the tail end of the season.
The White Heart lane side lost to West Ham 1-nil which dealt a big blow to their title credentials as Manuel Lanzini scored the winning goal in the 65th minute to beat Spurs.
As result, Spurs lost the opportunity to close the gap to a point but performed poorly as West Ham assisted Chelsea to retain its four points lead at the top of the EPL.
Chelsea need two wins from their final four games to be crowned champions. They will play Middlesbrough on Monday, May 8th.
Commenting on the loss, Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino said:
“We deserved more from the game. We started well, dominated the first half and created chances but didn’t score. We started the second half a little bit sloppy and we conceded a lot of space to them. When you are fighting for the title you need to try not to concede this type of goal. After that, we showed a little bit of desperation to arrive quickly into the box, and we tried to play long balls. The reality is that we didn’t score, not that we had a bad performance.”
Spurs play Manchester United next at the White Heart Lane on May 14.
