Steve Harvey is being replaced as the host of NBC’s Little Big Shots. News that Harvey will be replaced comes just days after NBC officially announced that his daytime talk show “Steve” is coming to an end . Harvey who co-created and and produced the show alongside Ellen DeGeneres has anchored the show since 2016, but according to NBC, they are hoping for a fresh perspective with Melissa McCarthy: “Melissa’s just an incredible performer and incredible comedian,” Paul Telegdy, NBC’s co-chairman of entertainment told reporters while announcing the news, “She will bring a completely fresh perspective to it.”
Kelly Clarkson is also set to replace Steve Harvey in NBC’s daytime talk slot, as his syndicated show is slated to come to an end after seven years in June. According to Variety, the writing was on the wall for “Steve” when NBC cut a deal with Kelly Clarkson for a one-hour talk-variety show.
“The Kelly Clarkson Show” is expected to launch in the fall and occupy the prime daytime spot that was once held by Harvey. Harvey’s final new broadcast was filmed this past Thursday and set to hit the air in June as NBC owned and operated stations will air reruns until September, according to the outlet.
