This discomfort should not stop you from getting braids. Anyway, if your braids hurt whenever you plait it, here are some of the things you can do to deal with the pain.
Moist scalp with leave-in conditioners
A leave-in conditioner is a cream that is massaged into the hair and left in to protect and smooth the hair. The leave-in condition is not only meant for the aforementioned purpose, it can also ease the pain resulting from a new braid.
You can massage your scalp with lavender oil immediately after plaiting. If the pain continues you should massage it daily until it stops. Also, note that the lavender oil has to be heated before using it to massage your scalp.
This should be last option. If the pain becomes unbearable leading to a serious headache, you should take painkillers for relieve.
