The idea of celebrating All Hallows Day in Nigeria has still not been embraced by many but the millennials are staying true to form by throwing these Halloween or shall we say “Costume” Parties to ring in the season.
But if you’re a last-minute person or an under- pressure thriver (like me…I live for the thrill of being under pressure… yes it’s a thing), then you’d be doomed.
It’s October 31st, I just checked my calendar and I’ve penciled in a party every day till Sunday. Now I’m scrambling to put together a last-minute Halloween costume of my own creation.
What better way to do so than by sharing my best Halloween outfit ideas with my be
Please don’t be like Falz and friends with their lousy attempts at the DIY Halloween costumes, anything worth doing is worth doing well.all hallows day
And if you do not have the cash to splash, look within your wardrobe there’s something you could work with…
Mad Men fans, eat your heart out
Dress as your favourite pin up girl. Just get a flare A-line dress to channel all sorts of vintagey Betty Draper vibes. Add a pair of red heels and a basket bag, now you’re Dorothy From the Wizard of OZ.
Get an Alice band ear to channel Minnie Mouse … the possibilities are endless.
The Addams Family
Dress as Wednesday Addams in a button down collared white shirt teamed with an A line round neck black dress, or black skirt & cardigan.
You could add black tights, black shoes, pony tail braids and you’re #sorted.
We see you Serena
Dress as your favourite tennis player. A mini dress or sporty 2 piece, P.E. (Physical Education) vest top and skort.
You may have wanted to go as a ghost buster but the days passed and now youre clueless. How about wearing a white bed sheet, cut out holes for the eyes & honestly, you got it ghoul! OR better still, round flat top hat, a mop stick and you’re an Eyo masquerade.
All the ‘90s Babies:

You could also wear a plaid flannel shirt, white round-neck T-shirt, cargo or denim shorts, black tights or white socks, Nike Air Force Ones, the list is endless darlings.
I planned to go as an astronaut last year but the way my lazy nature and bank account were set up, I never got around to getting the costume.
I went as a store attendant instead and you could too with two easy steps.
Create a badge with your name, stick it on a t shirt/sweat shirt. Speak with your top notch customer service voice & Voila!
More occupational costumes; You could go as a banker in your Monday board-meeting clothes or a Vegas star in an all-sequin dress from your evening wear collection.
The point is that all these looks can be achieved by working with your wardrobe.
So darlings, if you’ve not been able to gather anything from these ideas then you’re really DOOMED … *EVIL LAUGH*
