Nigeria’s Super Falcons have failed to qualify for Tokyo 2020 Olympics women’s football event after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Cote d’lvoire at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Monday.
The African champions were ousted through away goal rule, both teams having played a 0-0 draw in the first leg less than a week ago.
Asisat Oshoala who was the captain for the day equalised two minutes after Ange N’Guessan had opened scoring for the Ivorians from a freekick.
The second goal didn’t witness much action as the both teams found it difficult to break each other’s defence.
