Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho will come face to face with his successor at Chelsea Antonio Conte for only the third time this season and will look to make life difficult for his former club when they visit Old Trafford on Sunday.
In the corresponding fixture in October, the Blues thrashed Mourinho’s men 4-0 at Stamford Bridge courtesy of goals from Pedro, Costa, Hazard and Kante.
Also in the FA Cup Q/final tie, Chelsea were also 1-0 winners when the two sides met as Kante made sure he scored against the Red Devils twice.
During that game, Mourinho was involved in a bust-up with Antonio Conte and Chelsea fans and after the match claimed “Judas is still No1″.
And given the bad blood between the teams, we should watch out for these 7 key battles:
- Mourinho vs Conte(the predecessor vs the successor)
- De Gea vs Courtois
- Marcos Rojo vs David Luiz
- Henri Mkhitryan vs Hazard
- Valencia vs Azpilicueta
- Pogba vs Kante
- Ibrahimovic vs Costa
While Mourinho will look to get one over Conte and also preserve his unbeaten run (currently 20),his Chelsea counterpart will be mindful to get a win with clinical Tottenham breathing down his neck.
Conte will continue with his preferred 3-4-3 while Mourinho will likely go with 4-2-3-1 but going by Hazard’s current form and Kante’s penchant for scoring against Man Utd,then the match might likely go Chelsea’ way but we better still stick to predicting a 1-1 draw in this encounter.
