The world thought Valtteri Bottas will play second fiddle to Lewis Hamilton after Nico Rosberg retired.
However, the Mercedes driver has proven us wrong as he won the Russian Grand Prix, his first Formula One victory.
Although the Finn was pressured by Sebastian Vettel in the final laps, he overcame the pressure and made it through to the finish line.
Kimi Raikkonen came third which is his first podium finish since last year’s Austrian Grand Prix.
Bottas’ team-mate Lewis Hamilton ended a difficult weekend with a race to forget and finished only fourth behind Raikkonen.
Meanwhile, Dutch teenager Max Verstappen finished fifth for Red Bull.
The result means that Vettel is clear at the top of the drivers championship with 86 points ahead of Hamilton on 73 with Bottas up to third with 63 points.
The next race is the Spanish Grand Prix on 14th May, 2017.
