Amaju Pinnick, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation once said that he knows what to do to get Tammy Abraham to play for Nigeria. In fact, Pinnick claimed that Abraham has agreed to play for Nigeria and added they have now begun the process of applying to FIFA to transfer his registration.
But, it seems he did not do enough to convince Tammy Abraham to play for Nigeria, as the player, who is on loan at Swansea has denied the report, adding that he has settled for England.
Abraham said in a statement: “Contrary to reports in the media today, I would like to clarify that I have not agreed to switch my National team allegiance. I can confirm I met the President of the NFF after our last game against Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday given he is a friend of my father. However, any suggestion that I have made a decision to change my international representation is incorrect and wide off the mark. I have informed The FA that I remain available for selection for England.”
