The 2021 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) is set to hold from November 7th to 13th in partnership with Amazon Prime and Access Bank, along with a number of other international sponsors. The week-long film festival will focus on raising filmmaking standards by profiling keynote conversations on issues of strategic importance in moving the industry forward.
In celebration of film, AFRIFF 2021 will open with ‘Encounter’, an Amazon Prime Video
Original Film directed by Michael Pearce at Filmhouse Cinemas and keynote speeches from James Farrell and Ukonwa Kuzi-Orizu Ojo, both of whom are the International Head of Local Originals at Amazon Studios and Chief Marketing Officer for Prime Video & Amazon Studios respectively. The red carpet event is set to begin at 5 p.m. and will be concluded with a fashion night party held in association with the Smithsonian Institute.

Throughout the week of November 7th-13th , participants will be able to attend a series of masterclasses led by international industry experts that range from animation, sound design, acting and directing short films. Additionally, film screenings for a number of shortlisted films will be held at Filmhouse Cinemas at Landmark Retail Boulevard, for free as well as panel discussions, seminars and conferences aimed at providing high value knowledge exchanges.
