2020 is upon us, Happy New Year Accelerate Fashionistas!

We are taking a look at the best fashion collaborations between designers and their muses.

This fashion couple obsession began with the international designer-muse duos that shaped the fashion world.

Inspirational fashion couples, as they are famously called, like Madonna & Jean Paul Gaultier, Audrey Hepburn & Hubert de Givenchy, Grace Jones & Azzedine Alaia.

And now the collaboration between fashion designers and muses in Nigeria has become the biggest business move.

One of my favourite designer-muse duos is that of Sharon Ooja X  S.O.M.O. by S.O.M.O.

Sharon Ooja Egwurugbe is a beautiful and bubbly actress who came on the scene in 2017/2018 when she embodied the role of Shalewa on the tv series. ‘Skinny Girl in Transit’.

She is no stranger to the Accelerate Fashion family and has already garnered a crown as our Accelerate Fashionista of the Week due to her unique yet, relatable approach to style.  Read all about it here.

About S.O.M.O. BY S.O.M.O.

S.O.M.O. by S.O.M.O. also boasts a beautiful bridal collection and a Ready-To-Wear sister brand.

As most style marriages are formed The designer first began designing dresses for Sharon’s tv character ‘Shalewa‘ in the SGIT series.

The union was a match made in fashion heaven as viewers grew to love and covet Shalewa’s outfits with S.O.M.O.’s name being left on everyone’s lips.

Scroll through to see all the best looks they served together in 2019 and be sure to get inspo for your 2020 wardrobe.

The categories within may differ as S.O.M.O. makes versatile clothing that can work for more than one type of occasion.

S.O.M.O. and Sharon with time switched the focus of the brand  from solely ‘Girl next door dresses & corporate fits’

Cover up but keep it cute is the motto when wearing this outfit.

Be sure to wear it for festive Sundays and guess what, you can also rock it for brunch with family/friends.

S.O.M.O. stopped making just gowns to include jumpsuits, coordinates, etc. in the collection.

Sharon herself is ‘extra’ and we love that S.O.M.O. translates this opulence in all Sharon’s outfits.

This Ankara two-piece is the closest thing to a ‘casual’ outfit.

I cannot stress that S.O.M.O. and Sharon never shy away from bringing the extra factor.

Sharon rocked this daytime look perfectly at GT Bank Fashion Week and we stanned.

Sharon has graced numerous red carpet events looking like a princess, courtesy the designer S.O.M.O.

The wonderful aspect of her evening dresses means she can re-wear the understated ones at destination nuptials.

When the evening soiree is over and its time for the club, Sharon has no worries because this LGD (little green dress) has her ready to go (and us green with envy).
