Now, we all know how our celebrities love to slay, but some hit and some miss. We are crowning 10 celebrities for their hard work feeding our fashion vanities this year in no particular order, with one honourable mention and we hope our list speaks your mind. Otherwise, hint us on names we missed out in the comments section below:
Tokstar, as her fans love to call her, has never been one to shy away from making a fashion statement. In fact, she hungers for fashion statement, so naturally, she made our list. Be it in sports wears, or dinner gowns, when Toke wants to slay, she slays – which is pretty much every time. She literally never takes a fashion break and that’s the spirit that gets you on this list. Go girl!
Could there ever be a list of fashionistas without Ebuka? I think not! That is why Accelerate crowned him the Most Stylish Man in Nigeria this year on our monthly Cover magazine. We have not stopped admiring his looks since that Ebuka-Agbada he wore to Banky W and Adesua Etomi’s wedding and he has continued to set the standards higher for the men in the entertainment industry. Then top it off with that killer smile he has and your heart is beating faster, not ours. Ladies, he’s married please!
This movie icon is not just a movie icon anymore, she is now a fashion icon as well. An inspiration both in fashion and in film, Sola Sobowale has continued to rise through the ranks in her field, but now she has risen even in what she wears as well. From sneakers, to couture, to red carpet dresses and even capes, there is nothing she has not slayed in. Remember her outfit to King of Boys premiere? We are still not over that.
When she is not singing, she is making hilarious videos. But one thing that rings through all those scenarios is her fashion style. Bisola slays even while being funny and she gives us tons of fashion inspiration everytime. Don’t believe us? Clink her name above to see her Instagram pictures.
All she did was enter Big Brother Naija and bam! We weren’t ready for her rise to fame, stardom and definitely fashion. Cee C is a winner everytime she wears an outfit, literally.
Very unassuming, but fantastic actor, Alexx Ekubo is another stylish Nigerian celebrity we doff our hats to and it is not just because he is cute. Alexx quietly styles his way to red carpet events in great tuxedoes, but we are more drawn to his casual style. Be it slippers or sneakers, Alexx makes everything he wears look good.
Be it shirtless or in a robe, D’banj knows his style and he owns it! The singer is not just a master on stage, he is the boss of his fashion as well and our list would not be complete without him. He has a way of pairing designer pieces in fabulous new ways that have set the trend a lot of times and so we hail Bangalee!
The Chairman of the Sweet Boys Association knows a thing or two about fashion as well… ok maybe more than a thing or two. Falz can wear a pink suit and make you wonder how you have survived your whole life without one. In fashion-forward styles, he makes native wears into modern-day styles and rocks them with great accessories – and we are not just talking about the hats and lapel pins, look at the beautiful lady in his arms. Falz is definitely another fashionista that is often overlooked. But not anymore!
The beautiful, sweet media mogul knows her way with clothes! I mean, if you have been elected Director of International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, you would too, but this woman has been making fashion statements before this. Check out her outfit to Sony Pictures in March, and her outfits to red carpet events and you would see that Mo is not here to play around with her fashion.
Okay, Beverly Naya is super versatile. She has a way of looking as drop dead gorgeous in a casual romper, as she would in a dinner dress and even in a traditional attire. Look at her! With that body, how wouldn’t she? Cheers to seeing more of her in movies in 2019.
Since she vowed to only wear Nigerian fashion to big events outside the country, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has soared high in fashion and not once, has she made a fashion blunder. With her glorious natural hair, Chimamanda wears her Nigerian fashion brands with as much pride as Queen Elizabeth wears her English brands and we could not be prouder of our feminist queen.
So, do you agree with our list? Or are you doubtful? Who deserved to be in the list and who should not have been there? Let’s hear your thoughts in our comments section.
