The grand world premiere of The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai held in the elegant ambience of Eko Hotel and Suites, over the weekend and of course, everyone who is someone turned up, including the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Lai Mohammed.
Naturally, the event was invitation only and still more naturally, it was so much fun.
Adesua wellington, Mimi Onalaja, Ebuka obi-Uchendu, Ireti Doyle, Beverly Naya, Ono Bello, Sola Sobowale, Shaffy bello, ay, Bolanle Olukanni, Mabel Makun and many more struck a pose on the red carpet all decked out in their Arabian chic attire fitting perfectly well with the Arabian night theme.
But you know, as always with fashion, you will always have hits and misses.
Starting with our favourite looks, Adesua Etomi did us well in a black beautiful ensemble, with a shimmering head piece. She looked fabulously stunning!
We were also feeling the laid back, simple, yet classy look of Adesua’s BFF, Linda Ejiofor, who turned up in a black overall with a hoodie and a head jewellery. Simply elegant!
We will define Osas Ighodaro-Ajibade‘s look as chic-classy. Seriously, guys take a cue. Arabian Nights theme does not always mean you have to go all out and be extra. With a simple dress shirt taped with Arabian style embroidery, paired with shimmering accessories (we all know the arabs love their gold), the award winning actress has managed to steal the show, and flatter her beautiful features.
Also tickling our fancy was our dear friend, Kemi Lala Akindoju, who went for a mixture of the conservative Arabian pants with a racy modern blouse. The blend was so chic and appropriate.
Zainab Balogun simply took it to the next level with her Arabian turban. We are not sure where we stand with the entire look but we give her the ups for sticking with the conservative Arabian theme.
Omoni Oboli was fire in her urban Arabian bride look. Her chic head piece was in synch with both the premier theme and the movie theme – a wedding.
Mo Abudu was just lit! Her figure hugging, high necked dress with the train at the back is super classy and youthful, with the head piece giving her the whole twenty-something look all over.
Over to the men, RMD did us proud, going all out with the Arabian Ghutrah, as well as the beads in his hands and the shoes all pay compliment to the Arabian night theme. This man is always making us proud sha.
Adesua Etomi’s husband, Banky W was not far from our radar as well, with his Ghutrah, classy jalabia and his signature shades.
We got a conservative look of Denrele Edun and we must say, we were not disappointed. Dress in a suit, which totally goes out of context with the theme, Denrele still slayed in the colour combination and his hair! Yes, his hair is total goals!
The Director of the movie, Niyi Akinmolayan is was more like a super star at the event. He looked like the modern day Aladdin with the hat and outfit. Definitely would pass for an Arab prince.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu did well – as always – in his trad style, Arabian outfit. Paired with a red cap, the handsome actor wore something everyone can once again take to their tailor for a copy.
For the misses, well, we will try to be as lenient as possible but one message for all of you – “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!”
We will let you guys decide who your worst looks were from all the pictures in our slides at the top of the page.
Oh and check out Beverly Naya!!!
