Sequel to the success of the wedding party, the much anticipated Nollywood movie, The Wedding Party 2 has been released and it’s now showing in Cinemas across the Country.
It’s just one of those few films that get your blood pumping with excitement and joy no matter how much of a bad state you may be.
Already the Movie has made over N37m on its opening weekend, breaking the N36m record set by the first part of the movie, ‘The Wedding Party one’, on its opening weekend last year.
The Film had a lot of Nollywood stars featuring some fresh faces. Focus was also shifted to the groom’s brother Nonso – Enyinna Nwigwe – who accidentally proposed to Deardre, setting off a chain of intriguing events in a tone that showed that love truly is a universal language that breaks through cultural barriers.
Each of the cast played their roles very well and didn’t show any strife in trying to out shine themselves which can be seen as some form of real understanding and love between each role played. Michael de Pinna who played Geoffrey Winston, the father in law of Nonso was one outstanding character as he played his role surprisingly pleasant yet very hilarious. His character was quite comedic and came in different forms like sarcasm, witness and ignorance.
Sola Sobowale who was an integral part of ‘The Wedding party’, also earned one of the brightest spots in the movie. She was seen starting off too hard with jokes, and that were too involved for a wedding that wasn’t even hers to plan. Nevertheless, she retains the energy that probably made her your favorite character in 2016.
The movie had the perfect selection of songs and soundtracks that were the most appropriate to tell its story line. Songs from Timi Dakolo’s “Medicine”, Seyi Shay’s “YOLO”, Reekado Banks’ “Ladies and Gentlemen”, and Kiss Daniels “Sofa”.
If you have not seen The Wedding Part 2, this Christmas is the perfect time to watch the romantic comedy.
