Want a smile like Taraji P Henson’s? Well, here’s the fact: Pearly white teeth as we know can be a major confidence booster, because your dentition is one of the things people notice first about you. Yet not many people can boast of such luxury as years of drinking tea and coffee and eating oily foods have caused their teeth to develop an unhealthy yellow or even brownish tinge. Most times people are either too busy to or cannot afford to see a dentist for bleaching and scaling so we scouted and brought you natural home remedies that will brighten your teeth so much you can’t wait to show them off:
Baking Soda: this is one of the best ingredients you can use to get rid of yellow teeth. It will help remove plaque and give your teeth a pearly shine. Mix a quarter teaspoon of baking soda with a little toothpaste and brush teeth with mixture. Use this once or twice a week. You can also combine baking soda with lemon juice or white vinegar to brush or rinse teeth with for desired result.
Hydrogen Peroxide: the mild bleaching effect of hydrogen peroxide can help make teeth white again. Rinse and gargle with mouthwash that contains hydrogen peroxide. You can alternatively make a paste of baking soda and hydrogen and gently brush your teeth with the mixture. Afterwards, brush with regular toothpaste. Note: use hydrogen peroxide with extra caution as it can cause irritation of gums and cause teeth to be extra sensitive.
Lemon: lemons as we know contain bleaching properties that can help brighten teeth and get rid of yellow and brownish discolorations so much that gargling with lemon juice and scrubbing your teeth with lemon peels are one of the best ways to whiten teeth. Mix together a few drops of lemon juice and some salt. Apply mixture on teeth and rub vigorously. Leave on for a few minutes and rinse your mouth with water. Do this at least once daily to brighten your teeth.
Salt & Charcoal: salt is one of the foremost dental cleansing agents that have been used since the ages as it helps replenish lost mineral content in teeth and helps revive their white colour. Same goes with charcoal. Mixing the both together and brushing teeth with will help to return that bright sparkle to your teeth. Note: be extra careful using salt as it can damage your enamel if used too roughly.
