You might have dreamt of having dreadlocks but you are yet to decide if you want to actually get it or not. The truth is that dreadlocks can perfectly fit anyone especially if it is healthy and well taken care of. Hence, if you are seriously itching to wear dreads, here are the things to consider before eventually getting it:
- People will touch your hair
For people whose dreadlocks are clean, attractive, and neat, it will always get touched. People will like to feel the texture while other just want to touch it.
- You will save a lot of money
This is perhaps one of the advantages of dread. You don’t need to spend to go the salon and you will be able to save money. The only thing you need to do is to treat it regularly to keep it clean.
- Dreads take time to grow
You have to be very patient with your dreads because it takes a bit of time to grow. It takes between 6 months and a year to fully grow dread.
- People will assume you are Rastafarian or Jamaican
Rastafarians have a set of behaviour that is exclusive to them. This includes the wearing of dreadlocks and the smoking of cannabis.
- People will secretly think you are nasty
Since people have the perception that people with dreadlocks smoke cannabis, don’t be surprised if they think you are nasty and have reservations about you even before they meet you.
