So the internet has been abuzz with anticipation for Accelerate TV’s new series, King Women, hosted by Award-winning Director, Kemi Adetiba.
The new series premiered on Monday, March 27 at the Filmhouse Imax Cinemas, Lekki with our good friends Baileys as drinks partners, and we have all the gist.
The environment began buzzing with excitement, fun and activities as soon as students began arriving for the first showing.
The young ladies were treated to a special red carpet session, refreshments, and chills, before and during the actual viewing.
But that was little compared to the cheers and buzz that filled the entire building, as the stars began to arrive.
Veteran actress and entrepreneur, Mrs Taiwo Ajayi Lycett sure had the most fun when the students spotted her on the red carpet.
Mrs Lycett was literally mobbed, as everyone wanted selfies, talk or just a piece of the inspirational star.
The veteran certainly enjoyed herself, as she welcomed every photo and autograph with open arms and laughter.
Eventually, Kemi Adetiba had to rescue her from the students, but not before she also got her share of the buzz.
Kemi, who is partnering Accelerate TV on the new series, was indeed full of motivational words for the audience.
She expressed the need for young girls to be motivated by the stories of women who have made it to the position of kings, despite all the challenges that could have set them back on their journey.
Sola Sobowale, Toke Makinwa, Mo’ Abudu, Tara Fela-Durotoye, Funmi Victor Okigbo, Chigurl, Denola Grey, Accelerate’s Shady Bunch and many stars who graced the occasion, got emotional while listening to the stories of the King Women during the viewing.
Even Kemi Adetiba’s father was there!
They all looked glamorous, taking photos and talking with press men, including the Accelerate crew on the red carpet.
Meanwhile, the fun seeped through the CEO and Group managing director of Access Bank, Mr Herbert Wigwe, who spoke of his zeal to inspire and empower women, especially African women.
Also speaking, Colette Otusheso, Head, Accelerate TV was particularly excited to be working with Kemi Adetiba on the powerful new series.
She urged young African ladies to look beyond their limitations and strive for a glorious future.
Meanwhile, AMVCA’s Trailblazer award recipient, Kemi Lala Akindoju did a great job of mastering the grand event.
King Women series will begin to air exclusively on Accelerate TV from Monday, April 3 #Anticipate.
