One of the biggest Nigerian fashion frontiers, and Accelerate TV’s Fashion Editor Tokyo James is featured in the latest edition of South Africa’s Marie Claire magazine called the ‘Little Black Book of Fashion’ October issue.
The designer is out with his latest SS19 collection and he copped one of South Africa’s hottest models, Dylan Wentzel to model the homogeneous outfits.
Writing of Tokyo James in an exclusive, Marie Claire wrote: “Tokyo James is a British-Nigerian force to be reckoned with in today’s global creative space. Homogeneity seems to be the order of the day, yet he has managed to sculpt out an unbreakable, standout model for himself in an industry that was only willing to serve him rubble before the name Tokyo James had household status.
If you are not enjoying what you’re doing, then why are you doing it?
From his 2015 debut at South African Menswear Week to his SS19 collection at the same Fashion Week three years later, Tokyo’s collections exhibit a ever-shifting sartorial buffet of London edge, tailored street cred, and a subtle hint of Nigerian joie de vivre.”
