While you decide if Eminem is better than Kendrick Lamar in Rap music, Kendrick’s song, Humble, off his new album has featured in the 2017 NBA Playoffs commercial.
Yep. You heard right.
Last week, LeBron James played snippets of Kendrick Lamar‘s new album DAMN, before anybody else heard it.
Now, Kendrick and the NBA align once more, as his new single “Humble” becomes the theme song for the 2017 playoffs.
Produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and Pluss, the song features stabbing piano keys that seem ripe for pregame pump-up music.
According to Truthmusic’s analysis, the chorus (“Sit down, be humble”) is also the kind of thing players would love to tell opponents on the other team, so the song choice makes perfect sense.
