The mega state of Canada has recorded a religion-linked terrorist attack, reported to have occurred at a mosque, which is the city’s Quebec Islamic Cultural Center, Quebec, Canada.
It is said that at least six people were killed and eight people injured when gunmen stormed the mosque.
According to CNN reports, the police suspects the attack to be an act of terrorism.
Witnesses said at least two gunmen wearing black shot at worshipers in the mosque.
As we learnt, six of the eight people who were injured, are in critical condition. The police also said two people have been arrested in what has been described as a terror act by Philippe Couillard, premier of Quebec province.
The mosque also cautioned against spreading rumours about the attack.
“Please wait for preliminary results (of the investigation) before circulating rumors,” it said on its Facebook page. “The situation is very critical. May Allah give us endurance.”
It is believed that it is not a mere coincidence that the Canadian attack occurred as the temporary ban on Muslims from seven countries by neighboring U.S. was enforced, forcing thousands of people to protest the ban put in place by President Donald Trump.
