Travis Scott has donated $100,000 to Workshop Houston, an after-school program that operates in his hometown.
The rapper reportedly became aware of the organization after the nonprofit participated in his Astroworld Festival in 2018. Scott decided to donate the money after learning about Workshop Houston’s arts and education programs.
Workshop Houston gives local kids an opportunity to get into music production, dance, theatre, fashion and graphic design. It also provides tutoring and academic enrichment.
The organization plans to use Scott’s donation to fund endeavours such as a design program for students who will recreate the Milly gown worn by former first lady Michelle Obama in her official White House portrait.
