The Turkish Cup semifinal match between Fenerbahce and Besiktas was abandoned in the second half after Besiktas coach Senol Gunes was hit on the head by an object thrown from the crowd.

Television pictures showed the 65-year-old Gunes falling to the ground and clutching his head after being hit during the row between Fenerbahce fans and Besiktas players on the bench.

Gunes was then rushed to the hospital while Besiktas players left the pitch in the 60th minute, with referee Mete Kalkavan, who subsequently called the game off at 0-0.

Former Real Madrid defender,Pepe was sent off for Besiktas after 30 minutes, while the match was delayed for five minutes in the first half after projectiles where thrown at Besiktas players.

The first leg between the two sides ended in a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile,the Turkish Football Federation has said that it would make a decision on the match soon.
