Tyga has sued Lil Wayne and Birdman to court over unpaid royalties. According to reports, Tyga is suing Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money record labels belonging to rappers Lil Wayne and Birdman over claims that they cheated him out of at least $1 million in royalties ever since he produced two albums for Lil Wayne in 2009, including “Careless World” and “Hotel California.”
Interestingly, Young Money is jointly owned by Wayne and Birdman.
In 2016, Tyga secured an agreement from the recording companies promising to pay any royalties owed, but he now says in the lawsuit that he has yet to receive the money. The rapper wants at least $1 million and access to those companies’ accounting records and royalty statements.
Lil Wayne and Birdman had yet to react to this suit as at press time.
