Nigerian Flying Eagles fell 2-0 to Senegal in the final of the 2018 U-20 WAFU Cup at the Stade Municipal de Lome on Sunday.
Senegal got a reward for their resilient dominance in the first half when Sagna Amadou opened the scoring two minutes into the second half before Youssouph Badji doubled the lead for the Senegales in the 69th minute.
The Nigerian team have already qualified for the U20 African Nations Cup to be held in Niger where they were placed in the same group as the hosts alongside Burundi and South Africa.
In the third-place playoff, Mali defeated hosts Niger 2-1 to claim the third position.
