Cristiano Ronaldo helped Juventus to a comfortable 3-0 win over Bayern Leverkusen at the Allianz Stadium in their second group match last night.
The goal meant Ronaldo has now scored against 33 different opponents in the Champions League, equaling the record set by Real Madrid great Raul. Gonzalo Higuain and Fernando Bernadeschi were the other scorers.
Ronaldo has now broken former Real Madrid team-mate Iker Casillas’ record for most Champions League wins of all time. The victory on Tuesday was his 102nd in European competition.
In North London, Bayern Munich demolished Tottenham 7-2 in their own group game courtesy of four goals from Serge Gnabry and a hattrick from Roman Lewandowski. This was Tottenham’s heaviest defeat in Europe under Mauricio Pocchetino.
In Madrid, Nigerian Bonaventure Dennis who is dubbed the ‘Nigerian Ronaldo’ led Club Brugge to a surprise 2-0 lead against Real Madrid before Sergio Ramos pulled one back after the break. Vommier got red card later in the second half before Casemiro equalized in the 84th minute.
