Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarkable scoring run came to an end on Wednesday, but still managed to set another Champions League record as Real Madrid recorded a 2-1 win away to Bayern Munich.
Ronaldo has now won more Champions League games than any other player with 96 surpassing Madrid goalkeeping legend Iker Casillas.
Joshua Kimmich opened the scoring in the 28th minute after Robben and Boateng got injured in the first 20 minutes. Marcelo then equalised the goal to peg the score at 1-1 at halftime.
A defensive error by Rafinha then gifted Lucas Vasquez the chance to pass to Marco Asensio to give the Galacticos the lead.
Also, the two-time defending champions won their 150th Champions League game, becoming the first side to reach the mark.
