It was a night of pure magic from Cristiano Ronaldo as his brace and an assist condemned Juventus to a first leg defeat at the Old Lady in their the first of the quarterfinal matches played yesterday.
Though his contribution on a general point of view was marvelous, it will be his spectacular bicycle kick which will herald the night so much that even the Juventus fans applauded him, which he appreciated.
Few minutes later, he provided a sleek assist for Marcelo to put in the third goal to ensure that Madrid go home with the superior advantage.
In Seville, Bayern Munich came from a goal down to beat Sevilla 2-1 to ensure they had the advantage going into the second leg.
Jose Sanabria opened the scoring for Sevilla before an own goal from Jesus Navas which saw him turn Frank Ribery’s cross gave the Bayern an equalizer at the stroke of half-time.
However, few minutes into the second half, Thiago Alcantara popped up to give the Bavarians the lead which they held on to till the final whistle.
