Cristiano Ronaldo broke another record in the UEFA Champions league as Real Madrid’s late show gave them a 3-1 first leg victory over PSG in the round of 16 game last night.
The Ligue 1 leaders opened the scoring through Adrien Rabiot off a smart Neymar’s assist before Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th Champions league goal for Real Madrid and 115th Champions league goal overall, from the penalty spot after Toni Kroos was pulled in the box.
PSG dominated for the major part of the game before Ronaldo scored his 11th Champions league goal this season from Asensio’s cross while Marcelo sealed the win with a strike three minutes later.
Ronaldo became the first player in history to score 100 goals for one club in the Champions League.
In Portugal, Liverpool put up a five star performance as they thrashed FC Porto 5-0. Sadio Mane scored a hat-trick while Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino also put their names on the scoresheet.
