Lionel Messi scored his 100th European goal last night in Barcelona’s 3-1 victory over Greek champions Olympiakos in the Champions League despite Pique’s deserved red card.
The 30-year old hit the mark after he whipped a free-kick past goalkeeper Silvio Proto to double Barca’s lead.
Dimitris Nikolaou had scored an own goal to open scoring while Messi set up Lucas Digne to score the third before Nikolaou’s fine header grabbed a late consolation.
At the Stamford Bridge, Eden Hazard scored a brace in Chelsea’s 6 goal thriller against AS Roma to keep his team’s Champions league hopes alive though Roma fought back from two goals down to lead at a stage in the game before the game ended 3-3.
David Luiz scored the opening goal while former Manchester City players Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko scored to lead a likely comeback.
In Belgium, Paris Saint-Germain smashed Anderlecht 4-0 thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Angel Di Maria.
