The management of the University of Lagos will begin to screen new students for hard drugs starting from the next admission.
The Assistant Registrar of the school, Mrs Taiwo Oloyede warned that the University authority will not hesitate to rusticate any students that tests positive to hard drugs.
She said the screening is to ensure a drug-free academic community as well as promote peaceful coexistence within the campus.
She said all newly-admitted students will undergo the screening before their registration.
“This test is compulsory and will be administered on new students before they are allowed to go ahead with their registration. Admission of newly admitted students who test positive to drug use will be withdrawn,” Mrs Oloyede said.
