Novak Djokovic has qualified for the US Open semi-finals after he swept past Roger Federer’s conqueror John Millman in three sets.
The two-time US open champion defeated the world number 55 6-3 6-4 6-4 at the Flushing Meadows yesterday.
He will face Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals on Friday.
Meanwhile, Kei Nishikori defeated Marin Cilic in five sets to reach the US Open semi-finals as they both struggled with the hot weather conditions.
Cilic who took the first set 2-6, couldn’t hold on as he lost 2-6 6-4 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 6-4 in four hours eight minutes to the Japanese top seed.
In the Women event, another Japanese Naomi Osaka qualified for her first Grand Slam semi-final after she overcame Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko 6-1 6-1.
She will face Madison Keys who defeated Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro 6-4 6-3.
