The 23rd edition of the Victoria Secret Fashion Show ended this past weekend with a bang and a lot of iconic moments.

But although the show was explosive in itself, plussize community are not having any of it.

The show which is organized to entertain whilst it showcases luxury underwear and sleepwear was hosted in the big apple city of New York.

This year’s edition featured models like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Winnie Harlow and several black models including Mayowa Nicholas and Adut Akech.

But there was a rising furor from social media as people lambasted the show for only featuring bone skinny models and not encouraging inclusivity.

This furor was sparked into a wild outrage by statements from Victoria’s Secret sales chairman Ed Razek after he gave an interview with Vogue saying there was no market for plus sized shows.

“We attempted to do a television special for plus-sizes [in 2000]. No one had any interest in it, still don’t.”

He went further to defend his brand’s “brand point of view” saying he had considered diversifying the runway but hadn’t because “we market to who we sell to, and we don’t market to the whole world”.

Even though Razek later released a statement apologising for his some of his insensitive statements, people are having none of it.

Plus sized model Tess Holiday who was the cover star on Vogue’s issue took to twitter to lash out at Victoria’s Secret, telling the brand off in colorful terms.

Some other folks came to the lingerie brand’s defense saying it is their decision to choose what they wanted on their show.

Yet amidst all, this year’s show has also been praised for featuring more models from different ethnicities from all over the world.
