Anthony Joshua was recently in Africa and naturally, a lot of brands latched onto the heavy weight champion for one thing or the other.
One of such brands is telecommunications giant, Globacom, which outright made Joshua a brand ambassador and created an entire commercial with him as the star.
In the ad, the boxing icon in a message endorsed Globacom as a brand that personifies the values he holds dear, such as tenacity, unequalled reach and speed.
At the end of the ad, Joshua, in an attempt to “sound Nigerian,” said “Naija I hail o”.
While some believe the ad is lovely and carries weight, since Anthony Joshua is an inernational star, others think it may be a desperate attempt of Globacom to appeal to its users as an international brand.
