Our Woman Crush Wednesday is none other than Empire’s ,Taraji P Henson.

Born Taraji Penda Henson, she is an award winning actress from Washington D.C.. She was born on born September 11, 1970 to . Taraji first rose to the acting scene in the movie Baby Boy which she portrayed Yvett.

Henson attended  Oxon Hill High School in  Maryland. She obtained her  tertiary education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where she studied electrical engineering. She later transferred to Howard University to study drama.

During the course of her career Taraji has starred and made appearances on quite a few  TV series and Movies. Henson played a leading role in the series Person of Interest and has appeared in blockbusters such as Think Like A Man, The Karate Kid, Tyler Perry’s , I Can Do Bad All By Myself. Her most popular role today is the role ‘COOKIE’ on FOX hit series ‘Empire’

Taraji Henson is a successful actress and was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world on the annual Time 100 list. She has won numerous BET Awards and NAACP Awards, 1 Golden Globe Award and  she has received many more nominations.

Taraji is also a Mother , she has one son who she gave birth to in 1994. Taraji is also an activist , she has publicly declared her support for PETA and LGBT community by posing in advertisements to promote their campaigns.
