The Accelerate Film Maker Project started in 2017 with the mission to educate and empower a generation of young people in the art film-making. The film maker project consisted of intense training ranging from directing, production, script writing and much more, taught by the very best of Nollywood film makers, producers and more industry veterans.
At the end of the training session, 5 great film ideas were selected by a star-studded judging panel to be created by the Film Makers and the Accelerate team. The films were also showed during the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF 2017). One overall winner was selected. Priye Diri, who wrote, directed and produced the short film, XOXO Leo, won the competition. She was awarded with a filmmaking training in France.
Today, The Accelerate Film Maker Project has grown to include more participants and will be creating more films from the 2018 Accelerate Film Maker Project.
