Simple: I have a longer lifespan than you.
Here’s why: Dr. Simone Ribero, a researcher at King’s College, London in a study said, “For many years, dermatologists have identified that the skin of acne sufferers appears to age more slowly than those who have not experienced any acne in their lifetime. Whilst this has been observed in clinical settings, the cause of this was previously unclear.
The study deduced that the telomeres (compound structures at the end of a chromosome that affect cell aging and death) contained in the white blood cells of acne sufferers are longer.
What’s the relationship, right? The telomeres in person cells get shorter and shrink gradually as they age. Since acne sufferers have longer telomeres, it takes more time for their cells to mature, in turn leading a longer lifespan if the body cells live longer.
