The much advertised fight between WBC champion Deontay Wilder and former champion Tyson Fury proved a cracker to watch with many pundits leaving with the believe that Fury won.
Former world champions including Floyd Mayweather, Lennox Lewis, Tony Bellew and Carl Froch believed Fury had won even though the Brit was knocked down in the ninth and twelfth rounds.
After the 12 rounds, the fight was scored 115-111 for Wilder, 114-112 for Fury and 113-113 with Alejandro Rochin scoring Wilder as the winner.
Meanwhile, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has said that he and the British Boxing Board of Control will write to the WBC demanding a rematch.
The winner between these two is supposed to fix a fight with IBO, WBO and WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua for a chance to be the unified boxing heavyweight champion.
