Seven-time Wimbledon champion, Serena Williams seems to be having her best tournament so far since the birth of her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Junior, as she has dispatched every opponent she has faced in this tournament so far with reckless abandon.

The American dispatched Germany’s Julia Gorges in straight sets 6-2 6-4 in the semi-final to qualify for her first final post-birth.

Serena will face another German Angelique Kerber who also won in straight sets beating Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 6-3.

Should she win, it will be a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam title for the 36-year old.

In the men’s event, Federer’s conqueror Kevin Anderson will face John Isner while Novak Djokovic will face Rafael Nadal in the semi-final later today.

Anderson from South Africa is the only African in the tournament.
