At the case against former chief of defence staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh which was continued on Monday, the prosecution called another witness, one Mrs Fatima Dauda, a relationship manager at first bank.
During the examination in chief, the witness informed the court that in 2012, she became the relationship manager to Baden, who opened a Visa Gold Account with the bank.
she informed the court that an initial deposit of the sum of $50,000 was paid into the account in two instalments. she stated that she filled the teller with which the money was used to pay in the said sum.
she further told the court that another sum of $702,000 was later paid into the account by Mr. Baden and a third party.
According to her, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) approached the bank sometime in May requesting for details on the account which provided.
The said bank documents were exhibited along with an application form and a letter of exemption from payment of utility bills.
Justice Abang who presides over the matter adjourned to the 17th of Nov. to enable the prosecution gather more evidence.
