Wizkid is gearing up for the release of his 4th studio album, titled “Made In Lagos”, and he has now revealed the release date for the much anticipated body of work.
According to the pop icon, the ten-track project will drop on the 1st of October, 2018.
He made this known on Twiiter, tweeting “01.10.18” and later followed it up with “#MadeinLagos”, which is the title of the album.
The album is to follow up is 2017 body of work, “Sounds From The Other side” which wasn’t well received here in Nigeria as it was created for his non Nigerian fans abroad and to penetrate the international scene. Wizkid’s debut album, “Superstar” was in 2011 while his sophomore “Ayo” was released in 2014.
Seven years down the line since releasing his debut album, Wizkid has continued to wield a very strong musical force in Africa and now penetrating the international music scene and punishing the African music narrative internationally. In 2017, the ‘starboy of Nigerian music’ became the first afro-beat singer to sell out the London Royal Albert hall, a feat he toppled again this year when he sold out the iconic 20,000 capacity 02 Arena in London at the AfroRepublik in May.
And with his latest singles− “Manya”, “Soco”, “Kana” with Olamide and “Fake Love” with Duncan Mighty topping charts and making waves across clubs, airwaves, dance floors as well as personal playlists all around the world, his throng of fans are sure in for a musical treat when the album finally drops on October 1st.
