A few weeks back, Nigerian pop star Wizkid announced a collaboration with Nike for a jersey and we crossed our fingers in anticipation. This came after he had modeled the new Super Eagles 2018 World Cup kit in partnership with Nike.

Finally, a limited edition collection in collaboration with the athletic-wear brand has debuted; and it sold out within 10mins!

The new merch which is inspired by the Super Eagles jersey created by Nike has Wizkid’s hometown, Surulere emblazoned on the lower back, asides from the bold inscription on the back. This jersey also reflects the Nigerian flag.

The jersey is flecked with green and white trimmings, a Naija graphic on the sleeve, a centrally placed Nike Swoosh and highlighted iconic Starboy graphic across the chest.

The new merch which was released on the 10th of September by Nike was available only for a few minutes before all the available products were sold out.

The excited pop star took to his instagram handle to share

“That was fast! Sold out within 10mins!🌏🌏🌏🌹🦅 Love u all like crazy!😭😭😭 God working harder than the devil! ❤❤❤😇”

The success of the collection is not much of a surprised as it combined the ingenuity of dogged star and the flawless creation of Nike as it sets Nigeria’s paw more deeply in the culture of fashion.

More grease Wizzy!
