In Nigeria, we like to do follow follow or copy copy regardless of whether it is good or not.
The new trend we have imported into the country without spending a dime, is celebrities showing off their baby bumps on social media, especially on Instagram. This is normal in America with superstars like Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Blac Chyna and Beyonce.
Yes, we cannot forget Beyonce. Beyonce’s picture on Instagram announcing that she is expecting twins became the most liked pix on Instagram. Waawu!
Now, Nigerian celebrities are displaying their bumps like their American counterparts. Is there anything wrong with this?
Some Nigerians feel that there is everything wrong with flaunting a baby bump because pregnancy is something that is meant to be private and if they are not celebrities they won’t be showing the bump off.
More so, if they cannot resist the temptation to display it, there is no need for them to display their pregnant stomach. After all, an ordinary Nigerian cannot do this. These persons also think that it is not culturally or morally right. Who culture or moral epp?
For others who are for it, they think since they are celebrities, everyone will be interested in what is going on in their lives. So, to satisfy the curiosity of fans, they put their lives and baby bumps on Instagram.
So is it yay or nay for celebrities who show off their baby bump on social media?
By way we cannot deny that those pics are cute…
