The Chipolopolo of Zambia are really breathing down the neck of our dear Super Eagles as they recorded an away win over the Desert Warriors of Algeria in Constantine last night.
The game in Constantine began with the home team dominating the proceedings but Zambia had their goalkeeper Maurice Mweeny to thank for various saves including saving a penalty from Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.
The only goal of the game came midway in the second half when U20 international Patson Dhaka bundled the ball home.
The victory takes Zambia to 7 points, 3 adrift Nigeria whom they will meet on October 7 in Uyo.
The Nigerian team had earlier secured a valuable one point in their match against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Monday.
